Monthly Meetings

KAGC monthly luncheon meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month. Location and speakers will be announced by email, on Facebook and on the website.

Joel Pett signs art for April meeting guests

Lexington Herald-Leader editorial cartoonist Joel Pett shared his art and his views on politics, government and social issues at KAGC's April meeting.

Pett drew faces of political figures including President Obama, Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and Sen. Mitch McConnell and later signed the artwork for several guests. member Sallie Showwalter won a copy of Pett's book "Just Don't Inhale!"

Dr. Mike Nichols, a visiting professor of psychology and assistant to the Dean of the College at Transylvania University, discussed ways that humor in the office and in communications can make you more productive, creative and happy.

November Meeting: Write and Rewrite give tips on writing for social media at free webinar

About 50 people attended November's free Write and Rewrite webinar, "Writing for Social Media." Steve Crescenzo and Jim Ylisela reminded us that while good writing is still important, in social media, we must have a voice unique from our news releases and official statements. Communicators need to have a distinct social media voice -- a fun and engaging voice. Social media, they say, is about showing, sharing, talking and kistening.
